YOUR LOCAL FLYING CLUB
Aero Investors L.C. Flying Club, founded in 1994 by Harold Burke, Tim Stark, and Murd Davis, began as a venture to restore damaged aircraft for resale. Their first undertaking was a 1948 Cessna 140, meticulously renovated by Tim Stark of Jackson Aero, Inc. The business soon evolved into a flying club, following demand from pilots seeking aircraft access and tail-wheel endorsements. Membership was initially capped at ten but quickly expanded, necessitating the acquisition of additional planes like a 1956 Cessna 172. The club faced setbacks, such as the loss of the Cessna 140 to an accident, but adapted by replacing it with the newly refurbished 172 and doubling the membership.
The club continued to grow, enhancing its fleet to better serve its members' needs, including a 1972 Cherokee 140 and later, a 1967 Cessna 172 that further increased membership capacity to forty. By 2002, the club had upgraded to a 1978 Cessna 172N, and as of the last update, they boasted about 35 members, actively seeking new ones, and offering comprehensive flight training. Their latest addition in 2014, a 1968 Cessna 172, aimed to expand their fleet. By 2022, the club had formed a partnership with Western Michigan University Flight School, attracting students seeking affordable flight hours, and added a Cessna 150 to the fleet, reaching around 65 members and achieving significant monthly flight hours.
